What worked with looking into this website is that this is a famous magazine and website and they know what they are doing so this helps me know what elements they use and what should be used, from this website i can already see that mine should have a white/light natural coloured background, one main landscape image with the most important article and the others should be below with the latest news, for the linked page there should be one topic and will also usually include block ads from fashion houses. The Vogue website is a simple one which is easy to navigate and lets the readers know what they need too, this in turn attract readers through it's aesthetic.
